Exciting Weekend Ahead

Hey everyone. Well it’s that time of night – the time when everyone else in the house is sound asleep. Being the night person that I am, I’m using this time to enjoy a few TV shows, a snack, and what I like to call reflecting time. On almost any given night, you can find me engaging in all three of the above activities. Tonight my TV show of choice was “King of Queens” – a regular favorite, the snack was some kind of chicken burrito, and the reflecting – well, I can’t talk about that right now, but let’s just say you’ll find out soon enough, and I think you’ll like it so stay tuned.
Meanwhile, I’m very excited about this coming weekend. My wife and I have always wanted to give our kids every experience possible. As our daughter is not even two years old yet, her experiences thus far have been somewhat limited. As for our son, we’ve taken him to Disney World, New York City, and lots of other places. This weekend it’s off to our nation’s capitol. Carson has been wanting for some time now to see Washington – particularly the Air and Space Museum and the Museum of Natural History. Also on our agenda is a planned trip to the zoo. This happens to be the weekend of the beautiful Cherry Blossom Festival as well, and we plan to walk around and take part in some of the festival activities too. Of course, it also helps that our hotel will offer an indoor swimming pool and room service. I’m not sure who’s looking forward to the trip more – Carson or me, but I can tell you that he’s been talking about it excitedly all week.
My cousin and his wife and their two kids will be accompanying us on this trip, so it should be lots of fun. Unfortunately, the one who will be conspicuously absent is our adorable little Kylee. We just felt that she may be too young to really get much out of it, and the fast pace of the weekend might prove a bit taxing with her. She’ll be staying with family for what I’m sure will be a fun time for her with the grandparents.
Anyway, I also want to let everyone know that there are several pretty cool podcasts available on my site that you may not have heard yet, so be sure to check the Multimedia pages. We’ve got lots more exciting stuff to come very soon, so keep checking back. For tonight, I leave you with these awesome words from

“In your quiet moments, what do you think about? How far you’ve come, or how far you have to go? Your strengths, or your weaknesses? The best that might happen, or the worst that might come to be? In your quiet moments, pay attention to your thoughts. Because maybe, just maybe, the only thing that needs to shift in order for you to experience more happiness, more love, and more vitality, is your way of thinking.”

Album for Benefit Concert and More

Hey everyone! First off I really hope all of you can make it to the Rising Star benefit concerts coming this week (find out more on the Upcoming Events Page). It’s going to be awesome! Now I’d like to tell you that in preparation for this concert, we made an album. That’s right, eight of us went into the studio and recorded all the songs we’ll be singing in the concerts. It was lots of fun. The rehearsals for the recording and the concerts have been feverish. We’ve put in unheard of hours. Several of us even had sinus infections right around the time of the recording. Yet we pressed on. We arrived at the studio around 10AM – recording song by song, voice part by voice part – making corrections here, additions there, and so on. Lunch consisted of pizza and snacks which we ate as others recorded. We finally took a short break for dinner and ice-cream before a quick rehearsal outside in the parking lot. Finally, we returned to the studio for more recording. We didn’t leave till 2:30 AM. It was a long day, but the results were spectacular. I want to thank everyone who has worked so hard to to make this album and the concerts a success. The title of our album is “Something’s Happening”. As I stated earlier, it contains all the songs we’ll be performing in the concerts, and proceeds benefit the same worthy causes as the concerts. Check back on our Products page later this week, and you’ll find both a digital download and a physical CD available for purchase.:)
